WESLEYAN CHURCH MEETING AT TE AWAMUTU.

Notice having been given at the last quarterly meeting of the Waikato Wesleyan Circuit to move that Cambridge, with Pukerimu and Hautapu, be made a separate circuit, the Weslcyans of Te Awamutu determined to hold a meeting to consider what action their part of the circuit should take in respect to such motion. This meeting was held in the Te Awamutu church on Monday evening last.\ The Rev. H. Bull occupied the chair, and the meeting opened with singing and pkayer. The first resolution was moved by Mr J. W. Bridgman, ' ' That in the opinion of this meeting it is desirable that Te Awamutu, with Kihikihi, Pcvterangi and Alexandra be constituted a separate circut, with a young minister to reside at Te Awamutu, and that the next quarterly meeting be urged to recommend this to the Annual Conference." Mr Bridgman pointed out several reasons why he thought the meeting should carry the resolution. There has been a steady increase in the income. The resolution was seconded by Mr G. D. Hunter, and adopted by the meeting. The second resolution was proposed by Mr R. T. Millar, "That in the opinion of this meeting it is expedient, in view of the adoption by the Conference of the recommendation contained in the foregoing resolution, to organise a Sustentation Fund, and that immediate steps be taken to give effect to this resolution in ordei* that the result may be laid before ensuing quarterly and district meetings." Mr Millar supported the motion at considerable length, and it having been seconded by Mr G-. Laidlaw,

was put to the meeting and carried. Mr J. Glass expressed the opinion that even if Cambridge was not formed into a separate circuit Te Awamntu should be, and he would move, " That the foregoing resolutions should take effect, although Cambridge with Pukerimu and Hautapu be not constituted a separate circuit." This was seconded by Mr E. Bridgman and adopted. Collectors were then appointed to each part of the circuit, and £40 was voluntarily offered before the canvas commenced.
