Thames-Waikato Railway. Auckland, Last Night.
Tkxders are called by the District Engineer tor the construction of six chains of railway from the Hamilton Station to the site ot the Railway bridge at the river. The material for the bridge is being sent to Hamilton as fast as it can be landed. Already 400 or 500 tons have been taken up the line.
Produce Sales. At the pioduce sales to-day, potatoes brought 2s 9d to 4s 6d j bacon, 4d to 9d ; carrots, '2s 9d to 3s ; melons, 2a; pumpkins, 3s 6d.
A Girl Burnt to Death. Dunkdix, Last Night. At Waikouaiti a girl named Alfleck was roasted to death through her clothes catching fire.
New Graving Dock for Dunedin. A Conference of the Chamber of Commerce, the U arbour Board, the City Council, and the Poit Chalmers Council affirmed the desirability of erecting a new graving dock 500 feet long, at a cost not exceeding £100,000.
