In the House of Commons this afternojn a question was pub to the Seoretary of State tor India <with, rtfgttrd to the present position of affairs in Afghanistan, in replying to which the J&arquia, of Hartinjrton said that the Indian Government had no intention of assisting -the Ameer Abdurrahman m his struggle with Ayoub Khun; Subsequently, 'in reply" To" another question, the Secretary of State for /India stated that the British Government would firmly oppose any attempt on the part of any foreign power to interfere in the affairs of Afghanistan.
