The War in Afghanistan.
Telegrams have heon received from Kandahar, announcing that a battle waa fought yesterday between the forces of Ayoub Khan and tho-.e of the Ameer, resulting in the defeat of the latter. One of the Ameer's regiments deserted, and joined Ayoub Khan, and the rest of Abdurrahman' ■< force fled, after losing all their guns and baggage.
Calcutta, July 28 (Later). Further telegrams from Afghanistan report th.it the battle bsfcwoen Ayoub Khan's and the Ameer's troops was fought at Kareraatta (Karezillaiyar), a short distance south of Kandahar. Since their rlefeit, all the Ameer's cavalry have joined Aymb Khan, who>e force has been m lteriaSly ».trenf!;tlienfd. Tlie Ameer's garrison in the city of Kandahar is reperted to be very weak, and unable to offer any strong resistance to Avoub Khan.
