INQUEST AT TAUPIRI.
On Thursday last a ivlaori named Rendall, when travelling alongside the river from jtiangarirt, on his way to Taupiri, discovered the remains of a human being partly embedded in the sand. The body was minus the head, a leg, and an arm. Kendall at once reported the circumstance to Constable Hammond, of Ngaruawahia, who went and, secured the body, taking it to the Taupiri Hotel. Sergeant McGovern was communicated with, and the coroner, Dr Beale, was informed of the circumstance. An inquest was held yesterday, Mr "W. H. M. Lovell being foreman of the jury. Sergeaut McGovern, Constable Hammond, and Kendall, the native who found the body, were examined as witnesses, and the jury came to the conclusion that the body found was that of Edward S. Clarke, the boy who was acculently drowned from the steamer Rangariri, at Ngaruawahia, on the 9th December last.
