Gold-mining News. Thames, List Night.
The splendid yield of 21030z. of gold obtained from 180 tons from Butler and Goonan's tribute section of the Waitekauri mine, has again directed attention to that district. Several pieces of abandoned ground ground have been taken up with a view to systematic -work. The gold is of fins quality, worth £3 an ounce. The lucky tributes w'ii\ divide £4000 between them after paying all expenses. The value of the yield is £6315, which, for less than six months work for two men is highly satisfactory. It goes to Corbett, of the battery, John Goonan, and Butler, with fifteen per cent to Brown and Bleazard, of Auckland, owners of the ground.
