INTERCOLONIAL. [REUTERS TELEGRAMS.] Mutiny on Board a Barque. Adelaide, Yesterday.
The barque Sarah Bell, bound from Poit Victoria to London, put in here m consequence of a mutiny having broken out; on board. The captain was placed in irons, and the vessel brought into port here. An attempt was made to set fire to the vessel by upsetting paraffin. The accounts of the affair are most conflicting, but there appears to be every reason to believe that the captain was to blame.
The Chairman of the Pukekura Highway District notifies th.it the Board intend at a meeting on August ist to levy a rate of 8d in the £. A public meeting of the settlers of Cambridge West and the district will be held at the School-house to-day, at 7 p.m., to consider the advisableness of forming Cambridge West into a local district.
