Witii reference to the plans of the Cam - bridge Public Domain which the Board have been waiting for, for a considerable time, so thiit steps nvght be taken towards leasing some of the allotments. The following correspondence lias passed between the chairman of the Board, (Mr Wells) at Cambridge, and Mr S. Percy Smith, Auckland :—: — Domain Board Office, 31st M.iy, 1881. S. P. Smith, Esq., Chief Surveyor, Auckland. Dear Su, — May I request that jou will be flood enough to cause our Dom tin Pl, in to be completed with all possible despatch The Roard is very an\ious to lease portions of the Domain .is soon .is possible, and jwait the pi. in to set about it. The following has been received by Mr Wells as a reply to the above : — Survey Office, Auckland, July Ist, 1881. I am sony th.it there should be such delay about this matter, but your wish must ahvajs take picccdencc of anything else S. P Smith, Chief Surveyor. Mr Wells has since seen Mr Smith who promised to have it completed and returned in a few days.
