Arrival of the Hero. Auckland, Last Night. The Hero arrived from Sydney to-day. Her passengers were ordered iuto quarantine for twelve days.

Stealing Property. Sheppard, found guilty for stealing property from the clothes of the members of the Rowing Club, was sentenced to twelve months imprisonment, and Poster, for stealing from a dvelling, eighteen months.

Boiler Explosion. Wellington, Last Night. The boiler of the donkey engine on board the coal hulk Action exploded while she was lying alongside the wharf as she was getting ready to coal the Rotomahana. The boiler was literally smashed to pieces. Fortunately only three of the crew were on board at the time of the accident, and escaped with a few bruises. Mitchell, who was on deck adjoining the hulk, was knocked down and cut about the head. The crown of the boiler was carried over the deck of the Rotomahana, which was lying some distance away ; and n piece of plate was found at a distance of fifty yards from the place of the accident. The noise occasioned by the explosion was heard all over the town. Numerous windows in the vicinity of the wharf suffered. The cause of the accident is believed to be shortness of water in the over-heated boiler.

Supreme Court. At the Supreme Court the Grand Jury found true bills in all the cases. Walter Dickens, charged with larceny, and Henry Walters, with burglary, were acquitted. The Court adjourned until to-morrow.

Charge of Arson. Ashbubton, Last Night. Ruxton, a tailor, with his wife and siatei-in-law, were brought before the R.M. Court to-day, charged with arson on the 24th June, and were remanded until Saturday. Bail was alldwed, amounting collectively to £500 ; bail procured.
