Mr J. S BucUand's "Weekly Report.— Horses — At the Cambridge horse sale, on .Saturday List, very httlc business was done, only si\ liorscs having changed hands. \n active gelding, 5 years old, by Fancy, brought £21, and .1 weight carrying hack £21. Usetul stock horse- £lO and £13 each. Cattle— At the Oh.nipo live stock sale, on Tuesday last, 168 head of cattle were yarded, and all wore sold at very satisfactory prices, with the exception of 5 head only, which were withdrawn. Weaned calves brought £2 to /2135; twenty-months-old-steers, £3 7s ud to ss; two to three-) car-old steers, in form and condition, £5 to £6 each Sheep— A large number of sheep were brought forward, and met with a ready sale, 27 \ being penned, and all sold at the .auction .it an advance on late quot itions. An inferior lot of merino ewes brought }s 6d , small long-wooled hoggets, 7s 6d; aged long-wooled ewes, 10s, f.it merino wethers, 8s 3d; fat half bred and long-woolcd wethers, i}s 6d and 15s each.
AUCKLAND CATTLE MAHKET. Mr Alfred Buckl.md's Weckl) Report.— At the Greyhound yards on June 2\ there was the usual supply of fodder, moidow hay bringing from 2S gd to 4s ; oaten 2s nd to 3s od per cwt ; straw, 13s to iqs per load Ihe Haj market was fairlj filled with horses and those of .1 good stamp elicited good compi tition, actne draught bringing from 1.2) 10s to L 2 7; light harness horses and hacks, 1.5 10s to Ll2. With few exceptions, most of the horses jarded were disposed of. At the Haymarket on June 24, Mr. Auckland sold by auction three rcm ukibly choice fat oxen, consigned to him from Gisborne 'I hey were much admiied, and are woithy of special notice, as a proof of the grc it miprov ement in the breed of tattle in this colon) . Iho prices realised were Ll4 17s 6d, Ll4 10s, and Li( ss. Two were purchased by Mr R D Gil< i s, of the City^ Mar. ket, and Mr. Foss, of Grey-street, and will be on \\e\\ until Monday nc\t at the Haj market, on 'luesdaj, hides and skins fully maintained previous \ allies. 'l allow advanced is per cwt Prices were : Hides, jjd to 3 11-iCd the lb.; skins, is gd to 3s gd cich, tallov, 2}s the cwt At Papakura, on Wednesdn, there was ,1 small muster of cattle, with good bidding, and late ■values fully sustained At Remueia, on 'Ihursday, dairy cattle were lower in \aluc, but fresh conditioned store cattle were in full enquiry, and better worth. Fat rattle were in full supply, and of good quality Prices were slightl) lower than last week, but steady at about the loolbs btore sheep were in demand, and small-si/cd aged ewes brought fiom 10s to 12s each. Fat sheep were short of requirements, and advanced 2s per head. A fair market of medium-si/ed pigs of excellent quality met with a good sale. Messrs Hunter and Nolans Weekly Report — Horses. — A large number h.nc been offered, but comparatively few luuo changed hands, ov.ing to enlarged expectations of holders. At the Durham Yards, on Friday, an unusually large number was entered for disposal by auction, bidding was brisk at the opening ol the sale, but languished, 111 consequence of several lots being reserved ; but as the sale proceeded anim ition was restored, and a good m my were disposed of at satisfactoiy prices. We quote Hacks, L 5 ns to Ll7 los; light h irne-s, Ll3 los to L2l ; medium draught, £23 to L3O, draught, L}B. Hides, Skins, and Wool — In moderate supply. '1 here was an ad' nice in puces, especially of sheepskins. Hides, 3d to ~,,'d, skins, is gd to 3s iod; greass wool, yd. Cattle — ihere has been considerable activity in the market Dam* and store stock were short ol requirements, but there was .1 full market of fat beasts at Newmarket on luesday Competition was brisk throughout the sale. Dairy cows fully maintained their value; stores were 111 limited supply ; an unusually large number of fat beasts were penned, _ and for those at all up in < ondition satisfactory prii ci were obtained. For steers insufhi lently fatted, and rows, prices much lower relative!)' than for well fattctl oxen, for which -,os per ioulbs. was guen. Sheep — fho Newmarket Yaids were well filled on Tuesday, and principally bought by the butchers, although there was a felt want of good store wethers for new grass, for which description there remains an unsatisfied demand. Wethers sold at from 13s to 17s 6d ; ewes, 10s 6d to 13s gd. Pigs. — The supply is moderate, with no worthy alteration in value.
