TO THE EDITOR. .Sir, — In reply to " Inquirer's " letter published in your issue of yesterday, I am authorised, by the Commissioner to state that under ordinary oirou instances the bonuses would have been published before now, but hi order to satisfy the public an independent valuation has been made in London, which will reach the oolony during the month of August, and as soon as tho ropovt is ratified by the House of Representatives ' the bonuses will be deolared. — I am, etc., J.
