The Public Health. I see that there is a letter in your correspondence columu appropriately signed " Hector, '' who hectors rather rabidly over my remarks upon the want of a doctor or chemist here at the time of the sickness that prevailed a few weeks ago. I can only say that I expressed the feeling of many of fcho most respectable of the inhabitants, more especially those who were among the sufferers, and that the statements made were strictly correct. So far as the term "medical charlatan " is concerned, it was certainly not applied to Hector, whose worst enemies could not call him by any such name, and as for my malice complained of I can assure Hector that I have the ['kindest possible feeling for him.— [Te Aroha, June 22.] ' ' ' ' J 1 i ijiiu/.Lj '..
