FATAL ACCIDENT AT TE AROHA.
Ax accident of a very painful character, and which has ended fatally, occurred at Te Aroha on Tuesday afternoon to a little boy, live years old, the son of Jlr W. Wood, manager of the Morning Star claim. It appears that the child with several others was riding on a sleigh drawn by a horse, when he either fell or was pushed forward, one of the runners passing over his body and inflicting serious internal injuries. A waggon was procured, and accompanied by his father and mother the poor little sufferer was brought to Hamilton, arriving at the Commercial Hotel on Thursday morning. Dr. Bealo was at once in attendance, and did. everything that skill could suggest, but after lingering in agony till about 6 o'clock yesterdayTmorning, the patient succumbed. Everything which kindneSs could- devise was done by Mrs Chapman and Mr and Mrs Pearce to assist the medical attendant, but unfortunately without avail. , ,
