The Small-pox at Sydney. Wellington, Last Nighfc.
In consequence of the small-pox in Sydney, the Government have, after considering an official telegram from the Government of New South Wales, resolved to pioclaim the City of Sydney and the harbour of Port Jackson an infected place.
The Meat Freezing Question. At a meeting of the committee appointed at yesterday's meeting of gentlemen interested in shipping frozen meat to England, the following resolution was carried: — "That Government be asked to instruct their sheep and cattle inspectors throughout New Zealand to provide the following information : — Number of fat stock in each district ; number of fat stock exported ; probable increase that may be expected within two years from date ; number of stock boiled down, and the local consumption."
