LATEST NEWS. [BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH.] [FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.] The Late Jewellery Robbery.
Dunedik, Yesterday. At the City Comt, yesterday, Anderson and Hughes, charged with the burglary and larceny of jewellery at Olmstchurch, was remanded until to-morrow. At the gaol yesterday Hughes made a voluntary statement to Inspector Weldon implicating himself and others, and took the Inspector to the Ocean Beach, where they unearthed from the sands hill bags containing a large quantity of the stolen property.
Ciikistohgrck, Yesterday. At Christchurch yesterday Charles Henry Preston was charged at the Magistrate's Court with being concerned in the burglary at the shop of Mr Hooper, jeweller, on May 2nd, aud remanded till June 22nd.
