Daring Attempt at Escape. Melbourne, June 11.
Jamos Henderson the reputed owner of the Steamer Feiret, al'tn India, iriado an attempt last evening to escape from Pentrige gaol. He had filed away the bars of his oell window, and had succeeded in making his exit from the cell when he was discovered by tho warders, and again placed in custody. He now stands eommittod for trial on the charges of conspiracy in connection with the Ferret.
Mbme. Rose Hersee is in London. Mr George Darreli is iv New York having a "spell." Mdlle. Sara, the dancer, is high-kick - ing in New York. Mb Henry Bracey is appearing at the Globe Theatre, London. Messrs Hermau (the magician) and Val Vose (the ventriloquist) were arrested in the States for gambling. Ti^e Cqxandinis are in Hong Kong, doing splendid, business,,
