Further Outrages. London, June 8.
The accounts to hand to-day fiom Ireland continue to give further evidence of the alarming' state of the couutiy Numerous further arrests of prominent tiffitafcots and suspected persons have been made during the past few days under the Coercion Ace. Active steps aie being taken by the authorities to siop all meetings called together by the Land League. A large number of people assembled yesterday at Mullingar, in the County of Westmeathj but the police were despatched to the scene, and the meeting was prohibited and the crowd dispersed. At Shrule, in Mayo County, yesterday, a serious riot incurred between the police and the peasantry, who had assembled in large numbers to prevent an ejectment. Severe fighting took place, and several of the rioteis were anested. The mob, however, again attacked the police, and rescued the prisoners after a further conflict. News is to hand from Cork that the roads m the district have been destroyed, and the telegraph lines have been cut in several places. A large detachment of troopers has accordingly ben despatched to traverse the country, and to prevent further outrages.
