The Court of Inquiry gave their decision in ;< tho wreck ot the Tararua. They blame Captain Grarrard for the lo.ss of the vessel, and return certificates to the first and second mates. They blamo able seaman Weston for not keeping a proper look out. Tho judgment finds fault with Garrard for adopting a corn-so too close in shore ; for not ascertaining his position at 4 o'clock, which might have been done by heaving the lead, aiul for error of judgment for not getting the passenger into the boats e-irlier in the morning of the wreck. It hays boats were employed on wholly fruitlesb service. It blames tho chief officer for unskilful management of the boat, leading to her loss in the surf, and considers that a&sistaiice ousjht to have been sent from the Bluft', and recommends Government to eroct a light at Waipapa, and alter regulations so as to insist upon passenger v«js*>el3 trading on the coast carrying life-belts for every passenger they arc licensed to carry.
