MANGAPIKO HIGHWAY DISTRICT.

The Trustees of the Mangapiko Highway District held their regular monthly meeting at Paterangi on Saturday, May 28th, at 2 p.m., whereat the business transacted was as follows, there being present, Messrs. Macky, lisdall, fUsbon and Ligertwood, (in the chair) : — The usual preliminaries of reading minutes and correspondence having been gone through, the Secretary laid before the Board the certified plans of closed roads and accompanying documents for the ohairman's signature, together with the Chief Surveyor's memorandum, complimenting the Board on the unusually correct manner iv which the closing of these roads had been conducted. One purchaser only (Mr A. J. Scott) being present of those notified, the Secretarywas directed to wait on the rest and complete the purchase without delay, so that this business might be disposed of beforo the new Board should be elected. The Board decided to engage a surveyor at once to complete the information required at the Survey Office concerning the School-house road. Tenders were opened for ploughing and levelling the road loading to the Mangapiko Sohool-house ; the accepted tender being from J. Kerr at 3s 9d per chain. Messrs Mackay and Gibson were authorised to make some minor repairs on their respective roads. Mr. Tisdall was authorized to open tenders for claying the large sand cutting near Alexandra. Payment was made of accounts due amounting to £79 Is Od and the meeting adjourned till next month.
