Resignation of Mr. Oliver. (BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH, OWN CORRESPONDENT.
DuNEmN, Thursday. Mr Oliver publishes an announcement to the electors of Dunedin that his arrangements for the conduct of his private affairs having been disorganised by a recent occurrence he hasjsevered his connection with the Government as Minister of Public Works. He looks forward to the pleasure of addressing his constituents here shortly. It is thought likely in political circles here that Mr Hall will take the portfolio of Public Works, and that the vacancy in the Ministry will go to a Southland member.
Wellington, Last Night. Nothing is yet settled as to the temporary allotment of the Public Works portfolio. The Hon. Mr Johnston will probably take it.
