TE RORE BRIDGE.
The Te Kore Bridge is now in a fair way towards completion, although, work haa been stopped for a few days owing to the contractor, Mr J. J. OBrien being unable to get some necessary timber which lies a Mercer. As soon as this timber arrives, the last pier will be erected, and the booms for the main «pan,whieh are ready will be placed in position^ttt&Jittle more than a mouth wilUhen be rtajnifed to finish the work. - The earthwork if-|»rogreasing very .satisfactorily, the fine ireAther being very favorable for the prosecution of this part of the work. The total length of the bridge and approaches will be 860 feet, of which 460 feet will be earthwork. The number of spans is 13, eight being of 20 feet each, four of 40 feet and one of 80 feet. The height is 60 feet above the water. The timber work is of a very strong and durable character, the substructure being of totara and the upper works of kauri, the whole being strongly fastened with iron plates and bolts. When finished the bridgs will present a very handsome appearance. Oapt. Beere, who has been acting as clerk of the work, will we understand, be relisred in a day or two by Mr A Hope, who has been superintending ths erection of the bridge at Whatawhata.
