WOOL IN WAIKATO.
Mr OsBOBNe, the well:known woolstapler of Auckland has, within the past few days, paid a visit to Bruntwood for the purpose of inspecting Mr Douglas's flock and report on the quality of the wool. He made a thorough inspection of the whole of the sheep, "rams ewes and weaned lambs and could not find a single kempy fleece, although the worst sheep were examined equally with the best. The inspection extended over two whole days, and Mr Osborne's opinion of the general character of the ewes, from which Mr Douglaa is breeding his pure Lincola is that in sorting the wool there would be very little waste, and that the quality of the product is such as would be used by Salt and Sons, of Saltaire near Bradford as it would be admirably adapted for mixing with mohair in tho manufacture of alpacas, glaces, lustres &c. Samples of some of the wool are to be seen at the office of this paper, and although the fleeces from which thfy have been taken are only b\ months growth, the sample is of considerably length, while the quality is exceptionally fine. We shall be happy to show the samples to any one interested in the superior breeding of sheep in this district.
