NATIVE LANDS COURT, CAMBRIDGE. SATURDAY, — (Before His Honor, Judge Symonds, and the Native Assessor.)
The hearing of the Ngatitawa was fin- | ished, and the Ngatimanawa was brought ! on. The only evidence taken on Satur- [ day was that of Kipiona, who made some curious statements regarding the customs of the natives before the advent of the white man. He stated that on one occasion the Aravvas seized a uumber of hostile natives, and after killing them used their bodies to launch their canoes, and afterwards eating them. The Court was adjourned to give the native agents an opportunity for arriving at a settlement outside.
