Murders in New Guinea. Sydney, March 29.

In the Legislative Council this evening, a motion was introduced by the Hon. Mr Reid, a Government supporter, disagree* ing with the President's ruling in regard to the Reform Bill. It was negatived after a' debate. It transpired, however, that at the caucus of members of Council it was agreed to waive the technioal grounds of the objection to the reception of the Keform Bill from the Assembly, and to proceed with the consideration of the measure on its merits. It has transpired that the Government has decided to proceed with the business in the Legislative Assembly in the expectation of the Legislative Council reversing the ruling of the President, by which it vas decided that the Reform Bill should not be received from the Assembly for coriricferation.
