RESIDENT MAGISTRATES COURT, HAMILTON.

Yesterday. — (Before H. "W. North - croft, Esq,,R.M.) Breach of Borough By-laws. J. K. McDonald charged with committing a breach of the Hamilton. Borough By-laws, by allowing two horses to wander at large within a radhis of forty chains from the Hamilton West Postoffice, was cautioned. — Horace Mofflin, and Thomas Qualtrough for similar offences, were dealt with in a like manner. Breach of the Licensing Act, 1871. 0. E. Johnston was charged on the information of Constable Murray with supplying liquor t» one Jno Parkins on Sunday the 6th March. — Mr Hay appeared for the defendant, and admitted the offence, urging that the beer had been supplied on the understanding that it was for a sick person. He also stated that Mr Johnston was aboiit to leave the district shortly. — The Magistrate imposed a fine of 10s, with £1 19s costs. Civil Cases. In the following cases judgment waa given for full amount and costs : — Kiri» kiriroa Koad Board v. J. Frater, £2 3s 4d; same t. R. McKay, £2 3s 4d ; Missen t. Calderwood, £1 16a ; Le Quesne, v. Vivian, £4 12s 8d ; Missen v. O'Zane, £1 6s 4d ; W. Gibbs v. Hamon, £1 4s ; Ellis v. Hamon, £3. '
