Wellington, Last Night.

It being impossible to conclude the Asylum inquiry within the time given to the Commission, it is understood that it is the intention of the Government to extend the time. The Hon. Mr Eolleston leaves for the North on Friday. The Presbyterian Assembly met again to-day. The Foreign Mission report was adopted, and the Rev. Mr Treadwell was appoiuted convener. ' A motion was carried,' "That in the interests of the spiritual necessities of Presbyterian residents in Fiji, application be made to the Home Church for asoistance in sending a minister to this field." Reports on Church agency were read. It was moved and carried," That, in view of the new arrangements, the present relations of the Church with this Agency cease, and that the Agency Committee be instructed to adopt-,the recommendations for providing the Agent's salary." .
