Ihe largest of threo Factories is at Elizabeth, New Jersey. Here, the main building has 1,100 feet ironraj*- ; Forging Shop's, 700 feet ; Foundry, 600 feet by ioi feet; Cabinet Shop, 200: Packing Shops, 200 feet. The main building has four floors; the Cabinet and Packing Shops have each three floors. Entiic works employ 3,500. The Yard contains 6 miles railroad tracks. There arc ah>o Factories at, or near, the City of Glasgow , and the dimensions of these works may be imagined, when we say that 2,500 here, as at the American Works, find constant employment. The turnout of Machines alone is 10,000 every week, or, at tho rate of v>o,ooo (halt a million) for the current year. The various parts and new accessories, needles, oil, &c, &c, required for the 3,500,000 Sewing Machines, which are in use nil over tho world — these demand special attention and much labor. A Staff of Skilled Mechanics and Sowing Machino Experts is always ctnploji'd for tho solo purpose of making every possible Mechanical Improvement on the Machines and accessories.
