Wellington, Last Night. The Senate of the Naw Zealand University rnanimously passed Sir George Maurice O'Rorke's resolutions in regard to the Auckland College. Mr Oliver returned from the South by the Penguin to-day. Major Atkinson returns on Friday. It is rumoured that the new Minister will probably be appointed on Monday, when members have re-assembled. It is not even hinted yet who the new Minister is likely to be. The inquiry into the management of the Asylum concluded to-day, when further evidence \va3 taken, which showed that the institution had been badly managed and the treatment of the patients brutal. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency report, under date London, Feb. 21: — The wool sales progress firmly. Greasy and combing washed have each declined Id per Ib. since the close of last sales. Home buyers are purchasing freely, but competition on French account is sluggish.
