SUGAR BEET CULTURE.

Me. Lewis O'Neimi has, with praiseworthy zeal, despatched a second parcpl of sugar-beet for analysis to Mr J. A. Poud, analytical chemist, of Auckland. In an article published in these columns some dayn apro, it was ntaced that the wed used by Mr 0 Neill was inferior to that .subsequently distributed by the M>s-tr« Graham, and an unjust dpduotion miarht be drawn therefrom. This seed, which was obtained from Mr Livers, seedsman, of Auckland, may or may nof have been inferior; but it was different from that which the Messrs Graham generously supDlied to all who were desirous of testing the growth of . beet. At the analysis of, the former sample sent by MrO'Neitl was of go favourable a nature, it may be interesting to reproduoe here the memorandum which accompanies the parcel just sent, and which hai been written- for th,e information of tho«)e interested in the growth of the beet.
