The Sewing Machine made by the Singer Sowing Manufacturing Company arc acknowledged by common consent to be by far the bost Sewing Machines that mcchahiral ingenuity has been able to produce. Although the Singer Sewing Machines arc comparatively late in the field, yet the oxtraoi dinary demand for them during the past few years — as indicated by the successive annual sales— has obliged this enterprising company to increase their Factories to an extent that seems almost incredible. There arp also Factories at, or near, tho City of Glasgow t and the dimensions of these works may be imagined, when we say that 2,500 here, as at the American Works, find constant employment. Thejturnout of Machines alono is 10,000 every week, or, at the rate of 500,000 (halt a million) for the current year. Iho various parts and new accessories, needles, • oil, &c, &c, required fofc the 3,100,000 Sewing Machines, whicn are in use all over tho world — these demand special attention and much labor.
