On Friday, a large number were entered for disposal by auction 1 here was good competition throughout the sale ; almost without exception lots were cleared, and an ad\ ance on the previous week's rates was gi\ en. We quote . Hacks, £7 10s to £18 • light harness horses, £16 10s to £24 15s draught, Cattle.— J. hero has been a good supply and steady demand. Prices for wellfatted beasts had an upward tendency, and there was little alteration in other descriptions. At Newmarket, on Tuesday, theie were some good dairj cows offerred. Stores v\crc in moderate supnly at this market, but n laige number were yaided at Pukekohe on Wednesday ; bidets were in attend ince and bidding brisk ; 1 1st week's values were sustained. Some well-fatted o\en elicited spirited competition at Newmarket, and pru es advanced full} 5s per loolbs. for top sorts, but indifferently-fatted were lelatively lower, hhecp — '1 here was a good muster, and for best wctheis last week's values wcic maintained, but for indiffeienth -fatted the expectation of ve-idors could not be reached.
