FRIGHTFUL MURDER AT TE AROHA. [FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.]
Yesterday Morning. The township has just been thrown into a etate of the most intense excitement, by the discovery of the dead body of a native named Jimmy Hone, a shareholder in the Omahu cllaim, near the Tui. The body was found about a quarter of a mile from the road, and presented a frightful spectacle, the throat being severed from ear to ear. The murder was apparently committed with a sheath knife. Blood was found upon a considerable sized stone near the body, and it is believed the unfortunate victim" was first knocked down and rendered insensible by this stone being hurled at him. Sergt. Mulville and the whole of the police are working hard, and it is believed they have a clue to the guilty party, but, for obvious reasons, whatever knowledge they may have is kept secret.
