TE A WAMUTU.

The usual monthly maeting of the Rangiaohia Road Board was held on Saturday last, 29th January, at Lewis's Hotel, Te Awamutu. After the minutes of last meeting had been read and confirmed, A letter fiom the Commissioner of Crown Lands was read htating that the Board would recommend the Governor to reserve lot 54a, adjoining Ngaroto Lake, as a recreation ground. The Chairman stated that at an interview, Mr Smith (Chief Surveyor), although recognising the necessity for defining boundaries of bush reserves, was unable to say when a Government Surveyor could be spared for the purpose, and it was therefore decided to employ Mr W. C. Breakell, as a sawmill had been erected close to one of the reserves. The tender of Mr Bartells for work on the Ohaupo-Alexandra road was accepted. Great disappointment was expressed that no definite reply had been received as to the metalling of the Railway Koad, and a further letter was ordered to be written. Tenders were ordered to be called for works near Kihikihi and to two bridges, and for letting the Public Pound for one year. Accounts amounting to £24 10s having been ordered to be paid, the business concluded.—[Own Correspondent.]
