PUKEKURA HIGHWAY BOARD

A meeting of trustees waa held on Monday. All the members were present. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. A letter was read from the Hamilton Highway Board re the bridge over Mystery Creek. It was resolved that the trustees of the Hamilton Distriot be informed that this Board will boar an equal share in erecting the aaid bridge, and make the Approaches on their side fit for light -traffic, the Hamilton Board to do the same on their part. A circular was read from ' the Provincial Auditor re the Domain lands. A circular was received from Mr Peroy Smith, chief surveyor, enclosing certified plans of the following roads closed under the Public Works Act, viz., between lots ,122, 123, 124, 125, 127, and 128, containing 3a 3r 7p ; also between lots 193, 194, 205, and 206, containing 6a r lr 16p ; also between lots 51, 52, 53, and 54, road' at Bospital Reserve, all in the parish of Pnkekura. Messrs Walker and Sturges reported works as necessary to be done 'on Swamp, Road, also bridge required on Bell and Tacker's Road. Th 6 Secretary was, instructed to write to Mr Giice, Rotorangi,'to see what assistance would be given in draining the water off. Messrs Walker and Tucker were asked to repoitatnext meeting what kind of bridge was most suita^le.on Bell's Road, also the kind of culverl required to make the road available into Mr Hughes property. Mr Win. Sturges was authorised to cut the road fronting Mr Lake's property. The application by Messrs Wallace and Burke, to close certain roads, was ordered to be complied with, the Secretary to take the necessary steps to close the same. The Secretary was instructed to write to owners of land having thistles and docks growing on roads adjacent to their properties to remove the same. Accounts to the amount of &1 8s were passed for payment, and the Board rose.
