Ri;sisriN(r thr I'oLici:.— James Ross, ■was charged vilh wilfully obstructing aud resisting Constable Wild in the execution of his duty.— The prisoner pleaded not guilty. — Const abL Wild deposed that ho was called to Judds Boaiding-house on the evening 1 of the I.3th instant, as there were men thtie creating a disturbance. He found a man theio drunk, and incapable, whom he took into custody. On hi 1 * way to the lock-up, the prisoner endoavouied to rt"-cue the drunken man, laying hold of the witness and threatening him. — Joseph Freer gave corroborative evidence, and the M.igi&tr.ito inflicted a fine of £3, with costs 17s, in default one month's imprisonment. — The .same prisoner was chaiged with a bleach of the " Vagrant Act," !»y making use of profane language, and by behaving in a way calculated to provoke a breach of the peace — The evidence of Mr aud Mrs Judd having been taken, the prisoner waa fined £2, with co^ts, iv default one month's imprisonment.
