KIRIKIRIROA ROAD BOARD.

The usual monthly mpetin<? of Ihis Board was held at the Royal Hotel, Hamilton Ea^fc, yesterday. Present — Messrs Primrose (chairman), bWarbrick, and Gilletfc. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. A letter was read from the TamaherG Road Board, repeating their application for assistance toward* the construction of the bridge over the Mangaonna, and intimating that as the bridge, and cucting on the Tamahere side werp completed, the Kirikiriroa Tsoard should make the approach on the other side. The Chairman said thny had on a former occasion gone fully iufc:> the matter, and they had come to the conclusion that they had too many worktf to undertake in their own district. He would like to know the cost of the approach. The Secretary said the cost would probaWy be over i'2o. Mr Swarbrick could not •'cc who vras to make the approach if they did not, as the land was in their district. Mr Gillctt angsTc-fad that they should give the Tamabere Board permission to do the work. After some further discussion it was resolved that the secretary write to the Tamahere Bonrd reiterating the terms of the decision before arrived at. The Town Clerk, Hamilton, wrote atating that it had been resolved by tho Council to form and gravel the unformed portion of Heaphy Terrace, and that tenders hnd been invited. Mr T. Y. Fitzpatrick wrote drawing attention to the very unsafe Rtate of Stowsrt's bridge, between Ngaruawahia and Taupiri. The Chairman stated that tho surfacemen were presently engaged upon the work. The following accounts were passed for payment :— T. Hunt. £12 ; Waikato Times, £13 4s lid: J. Davis, £8 14s; Johnston, £8 14s ; J. Deegt»n, £32 2s 6d. The following 1 tenders wero opened for works -on the Hamilton-Tan pin road: — No. 1 contract, "W. Jonen, £93 19s lid; No. 2 contract, B. Brown, £9; No. 3 contract, Brown, £16. J. B. Booth tendered for the three contracts at £117, and M. Walsh offered to execute the whole at lOd per yard. The last tender was declared j informal, and that of Mr Booth was accepted. The Secretary stated that he had received the General Government subsidies for the past year. It was resolved to call for tenders for ploughing about two miles of road on the river-side road south of Ngarnawahia. It was also resolved to ascertain {he cost of surveying a deviation of the road about seven chains, in length at Kiddle's Hill, with a view to forming the road. The Chairman drew attention *ito the fact that that portion of .the main road to the Aroha l mining through their district would, if ,tho present traffic continued, require considerable expenditure, and it was agreed, ,that he should represent at the next meeting, of the Waikato Countjr Council that all the County subsidies granted to Kinkiriroa should be spent upon this road, with aview to getting a larger grant. After the transaction of some other buisness of an unimportant character the Board, rose.
