MR CAMP'S HOTEL, NARROWS ROAD.

This building, which is now nearly finished, gives quite a different appearance to that part of the road where it is situated, and is in itself a very imposing edifice. The dimensions of the building are 41ft. x 36ft. by 22tt. high. The ground floor is divided into a" bar 14ft. b'iu. by 16ft. ; dining-room, 20ft. by 14ft. bin., with folding-doors, which when opened will increase the length of the room to 28ft. ; bar parlor, 12ft. by 14ft. 6in.; commercial room, 14ft. Gin. by 16ft.; two sitting-rooms, 14ft. 6in. by 16ft., and 9ft. by 14ft. 6in. respectively. There are two distinct staircases, in consequence of the decision of the Commissioners some time ago to the effect that no license would be granted unless this condition was complied with. The front staircase, which is a winding one, leads from a hall 6ft. 6in. wide, and is lighted by means of a margin and colored glass window. The first floor is divided as follows .'—Private parlor, 14ft. 6m. by 17ft. ; two double bedrooms, 14ft. by 14ft. 6in. each : six single bedrooms, 14ft. by Bft. 6in. wide. The windows are all Sit. llin. high by 3ft. 4in. broad. The bar, hall, and front sitting-room are all wainscoted. The timber employed in the building is all kauri ; the workmanship is of the very best description, and reflects the utmost credit on the contractor, MiMiller, of Cambridge. The architect is Mr Wrigley, of Auckland. It is now only six weeks since work was commenced, and already much of the inside work has been done, the painters and paperhangers being kept busily employed.
