S. ANDREW'S CHURCH, CAMBRIDGE.

The Building Committee of S. Andrew's Church, Cambridge, have lost no time in acting upon the remit made to them by the meeting of parishioners held on Monday. They had an interview with the architect of the proposed new building, who happened to be on a visit to the Waikato the following day, at which the whole question of the plans and specifications was again gone into ami discussed. The result was that the architect has undertaken to reduce the cost by £150 or £200, and at the same time preserve the outlines and dimensions already decided upon intact. The alteration will, it is understood, consist in the omission of certain varnishings provided for the interior, as also a modification in the plan for laying the concrete foundation, 'ihese, it is said, will not in any way impair the stability of the building, nor yet to any great extent interfere wit,'i the internal appearance. In fact, the Committee seem to have succeeded without very much trouble in overcoming what at one time threatened to be rather a formidable difficulty. Such being the case, the promoters are sanguine of being able to proceed with the erection at once, without any very perceptible change being made iroui the original plan.
