Messrs Hunter and Nolan held their second wool sale this season, in the stores, Durhamstreet, Thursday afternoon,. The quantity sold was about 200 bales, and a large number of bags and broken pieces. As a rule the wool was not of a high class, nor was it as a rule well got up. A practise was noticed which is far to common among the Auckland wool-growers, of packing the bags and bales with a purpose. This is a foolish practice, for when intending buyeis find in the bottom of a bale not the same quality of wool as on top, suspicion is created, and prices rule lower on account of the want ot confidence created, Those who act fairly are also sufferers from this unfair jpracticc. The wool, as a rule, was scarcely so high as at the previous sale, and buyers appeared to be unwilling to venture high prices. The highest price obtained was t2§d per lb. for longwool, washed. Wool in greese, generally, commanded from jd to jd^ per lb. A large number of hides were sold at prices ranging from z\ to i\c per lb., and sheepskins ranged from 4d to 4s 3d each.
