"HERCULES," Bred by Mr Murphy, of Spring Creek, and raced by Mr Redwood. Got by Ravens worth, dam Plover, by Sir Hercules, Ravensworth by Touchstone, Fair Jeun by Veralum, lair Queen by Pantaloon. Hercules is a bay horse, 8 years old, and stands lo£ hands high, combines the best of blood with good bone and immense power, and has proved himself a good horse on the turf. At the Canterbury meeting in 187G, won the Grand Stand Handicap, 1 mile, in 1 mm. 50 sees., carrying 8 st. 2 lbs., beating 6 othors. In the same year won the Hawkes Bay Stakes, 2 miles, in 4 mins. 4^ sees., beating Fishhook and the Maori Weed.
Hercules will travel on and after Ist October, calling at the undermentioned places : — Mondays — Leave Cambridge, calling at Ohaupo and Alexandra. Tuesdays— Te Awamutu and Kihikihi Wednesdays — Kihikihi Thursdays— Will call at Rotorangion his return to Mr W. K. Carter's, Cambridge, where he remains the rest of the week.
