AUCTIIONEERS REPORT. Waikato Times Office, Friday evening. AUCKLAND CATTLE MARKET.
Mr Alfred Auckland's Weekly Report.— At the H.i} market on Friday List, loose hay brought 2s 6d per cwt.; three Buck-eye mow ing machines, £21 5s each ; medium draught horses, from £14 10s to £35; riding horses, £10 to £25 each. On Tuesday, hides were in moderate supnjy, and brought from 3^d to 3^d per lb.; sheepskins numerous, and in brisk enquiry at lato quotations. The second sale of wool was fully attended by purchaser.-. ; about 300 bales were swld. Prices were more irregular than at first sale, and quotations lower on greasy wools from \d to .^d, and on unwashed wools from £d to id per lb. The greater difference in price appeared in the halfbred wools ; the stronger wools maintained their values better. At Kemucra on Thursday, dairy cattle were in limited number, and dull of sale. Grown store cattle were at lower values, but calves and yearlings were in brisk demand at comparatively e\treme prices. Fat cattle were I yarded in full number; 170 head sold to the trade. Last week's values were barely sustained. Prices tor best quality medium, slight weights, ranged from 22s to 23s the loolbs.. but aged and coarse cattle were vciy much lower in price. Not many fat calves offered, and they were in demand. Sheep were in fully average supply, and in better demand than of lute; 2^l per lb. was the ruling price. Lambs were in average supply and good inquiry ; best quality brought from 13s to 1 8s each. A few well-bred pigs, light weights, brought from 24s to 33s each. The breeding pigs advertised were not forwarded. Messrs Hunter and Nolans Weekly Report. — Horses : There has been considerable vitality in the market, and a good many have changed hands. On Friday about an average number entered for disposal by auction. Competition was steady throughout the sale, and almost without exception lots were cleared, We quote hacks, £i 10s to £17 ; 1 ight harness horses,, £14 to £22 10s; medium draught. £z\ to £\z 10s. Cattle : The supply has boon large, and the demand steady, but with the exception ot well-bred store steers, there was a downward tendency in value. At the New market Yards on Tuesday, there was •a good muster, and at Papakura on Wednesday the jards were completely crammed; in tact, several pens could not be offered tor want ot time, although the sale commenced unusually early, and were held o\ cr for the extra sale, to be held on the 1 3th just, in the same place. There was. little alteration in the price ot beef, but the demand was steady. We quote dairy cows from £0 10s to £10 ; cal\es, from 32s to £2 19s ; yearlings, from £\ to £\ 17s ; Hereford-., from £] 16s to £4 q-? ; two-year-old steeis, from £\ to IV". : grown steers, £$ 12s 6d; beef, horn 23s to 27s (>d per loolbs. .^lieep weie again in limited siipplj, and ci*n c cqucnllv pi'ues ruled considerabh in tavor ot the seller, .in advance in some pen's of fully id per lb. being given.
