Auckland, Last Night. At the inquest on Brown, receiver on the wharf, Dr Dawaon gave evidence that he had tested for poison without effect. He believed death had resulted from serous apoplexy. The Auckland Cup is looked upon as a certainty for Betrayer or Foul Play's stables. Commissioner took 600 to 150 about former, and 400 to 100 about latter. Antoinette is scratched for all en. gagements at the Dunedin Meeting.

Cambridge, Last Night. A cricket match was played here this afternoon in the Government paddock, Waitoa against the local Club, when the former won by 27 runs. Waitoa went first to the wickets and scored 45, and in their second innings 108 ; Cambridge scored 70 and 56.
