Hercules is a bay horse, 8 years old, and stands 15} hands high> combines the best of blood with good bone and immense power, and has proved himself a good horse on the turf. At the Canterbury mooting in 1876, won the Grand . s tand Handicap, 1 mile, in 1 mm. 50 seos., carrying 8 st. 2 lbs., beating 6 others. In the same year woa the Hawkes Bay Stakes, 2 miles, in 4 mins. 4} spc.n , beating Fishhook and the Maori Weed.

From the above pedigree it will be seen that owners of mares can get the very best combination of stout and fast blood to be obtained in the Southern hemisphere, vide the grand performances of the stock of the above sires— Dainty Ariel, Maribyrnong, and Yattendon.
