Auckland C a rim Marki.i. — Mr. Alfred Rurkla-id's Weekly Report : At the H.ij market, on Friday last, loose hay brought from is 6d to 2b gd the cwt. ; barley, 2b 6d thu buihel ; spring < art and harness, L 2 4; buggy, Ll9; medium draught hors.es, from Ll7 to t*2B ; small-sued hoises, from L 7 to Lg ; riding horses, Lg to L2O e.ich. The sale of wool, hides, and skins, on Tuesday, was numerously attended, and eager bidding throughout obtained. Prices were from id to ijd higher than at the earlier sales last ye.v. Fleece wool, washed, brought from is to I3jd; in grease, from 8d to q^d the lb. ; locks and pieces, from 3\d to $\d thelb.; sheepskins in iull wool, from 4s to Os 4d each ; hides were also in better inquiry, and brought from 3sd to .}d the lb. ; tallow, i=;s od to 23s 6d the cwt. The special .s«Ue at Mr W. Morrisons, Pukekobc, was numerously attended by the resident neighbours, and the stock were all freely competed for, and satisfactory prices obtained. t There was no bidding for the farm at the auction, but L 6 an acre was afterwards offered for 100 acres and declined; L 6 10s is the price required. — The regular Drury sale, on Wednesday, was very fully supplied with stock. So many were offered that it became dark before all could bo sold, and some were held over for Wednesday next at Papakura. There was a full attendance of bujers, and the prices obtained were the highest of this season particularly for well -bred heifers. — At Kemucra, on Thursday, dairy cattle at their profit were dull of sale. A number of calves were yarded, and in good inquiry. They brought from 40s to 55s each. Fat cattle were in larger supply than usual ; 149 yarded, mostly medium and light weights of good quality. Prices were steady frem 26s to 28s the ioolbs., being about is lower than last week. Sheep were in full supply, and with a downward tendency. Prices realised about 2£d the lb. 500 wethers, overland from Napier, averaged los 6d each. Lambswere in moderate number only, and much lower in price. Pigs yarded were of rough quality, but it in condition in good request. Messrs Hunter and Nolans Weekly Repori.— Horses. — There has been continued activity in the market, a good many have changed hands. At the Durham yards, on Friday, above an average number were entered ; competition was good throughout the sale, and prices were sustained, and far good upstanding young stock an advance was given. We quote— Hacks, £6 10s to £\8 j light harness horses, £14 to £24 10s. — Cattle : The supply has been good, out the demand languid, ana conscquenty prices have barely been sustained. At Newmarket, on Tuesday, notwithstanding the heavy rain, there was a good muster of stock, and large attendance of buyers ; but prices, particularly for fat stock, had a downward tendency, and fluctuated much, a marked relative difference in value being obtained for top sorts, while indifferently fatted were neglected. Prices ranged from 20s to 26s per loglbs. There has been no appreciable difference in the value of stores during the month, and dairy Cows were poorly represented at Newmarket on Tuesday. — Sheep : Scarcely an average number were yarded on Tuesday. The demand was steady, and tjherc was no noteworthy alteration in value. Lambs were scarce, but did reach the price expected by vendors, and ranged from 6s to 15s 3d. — Pigs were rather scarce, but did not appreciably advance in value.
