THE CAMBRIDGE FARMERS' CLUB.

TO THE HDITOR. Bib, — I noticed with regret, in your report of the meeting of the Farmer*.' Club, thai the impression of at least one of the members was that I had attempted to -V7iite them clown, in a letter written, which appeared in your columns. Such, hir, wa.s far from my intention. I thought that, by calling the attention of the public, it would have been the means of routing some members of the Club out of their apathy, so that such an useful institution should not become a by- word to the province. In the report of the chairman, I thinK the truth of my remarks will be found to have been iully borne out, and not only by the chairman, but also by the member who charges me with trying to do an injury to the Club. Let the members who htill take an interest exert themselves, and instead, of having meetings of two or three members, let them try and fill their room with the iarmers of Waikat >. encourage them also to take an intercut in the Club, so that ifc may become a pride to themselves and use to the whole Colony. As I biid, .Sir, before, if the Club tried as nuvh to make Uic institution as useful and successful as they do to make it select, they would soon find out that the public ivould not be backw.ivd in giving them all the support they desired. Far be it from me to try to injure auything thit, is of u&e to the community, bui, I Ihiuk it is the 'duty "of everybody who s< us mismanagement and neglect iu^ anything which benefits the peopV, to stop in and endeavor, however small his efforts ni.iy be, to pi event an in-c.-ea^c of the evil. .Such was my intentiou, and if I have been the means of doing some good to the future interests of the Farmers' Club I shall be satisfied. — I am, &c, A Cambridge Fabmer.
