Wu'd-ato Town, Office. Friday. Ai'cki \nd Caiti.k Markft.— Mr. Alfred! Auckland's Weekly Report : At the Haymarket, on Friday last, there was a *mall supply of fodder, which sold at previous week's values. In horse stork les, than the usu.il number were sold, but Lite \.ilues were sustained. Strong riding and actne light harness horses brought from £14 to £30 each : an American buggy, £30 ; an( l }hy fuakau allotment, £62.— 0n Saturday, at W.iiuku, there was .1 lull muster ot stock, both cattle, sheep, and horses. A \ crj numerous attendance, •nd t.ur inquiry throughout the sale. All yarded were disposed of.— The usual sale of hides and skins \v,i!|, consequent oathe show, postponed. At Remuera, on Thursday, dairy cattle ot good quality brought from £ti to £10; aged and indifferent stock from £\ 10s each. A large number of cahes and) earlmgs met with a slow aalo, but maintained thoir late values. Fat cattle were in less number than required ; the usual number not ha\ ing arrived from the coast prices were higher thin last w eek, and ranged irom 27s to jos tor Auckland-fatted, and 26s to I 27s tor shipbome. The show cattle brought respectively—for the cows £14 12s 6d and £14, and tor the steers £18 1 7s 6d and Ll7 15s. Sheep were in moderate number only, and advanced slightly in prices. Tlic pen of pruc wethers brought 30s od each. Lambs were in full numbers, and maintained last week's \alncs— trom 7s 6d to 15s each. Very few pigs were yarded. MfchSRS HIIXIbR AND NOLANS WeKKLY Repok I. —Horses: The market- has been usually ' acti\e, and prices have an upward tendency. The Durham Yards was completely filled' on Friday. A draft per Orete, from Wanganui, of well-bred medium draughts attracted considerable attention and good competition ; and prices were satisfactory tb vendor, Mr Hammond, of Rangitiki, notwithstanding the serious cost of shipment. Local horses sold better than for some weeks. We quote hacks, £& 10s to £18 ; light harness horses from £15 to £23 ; draught, £2$ to 35.— Cattle : Holidays interfered wUh our Newmarket sale, which had to be held on Wednesday, as well as the Pukekohe sale. The change of the day had a less damaging effect than usual, and competition at both sales was good, and a slight advance in price ruled. We quote is per ioolbs advance. — Sheep was plentiful, and receded slightly in value.— Pigs : Supply small.
Thames Cai-ilk Market.— Banks and Co.'s Weekly Report.— On Wednesday the Parawi Yards were well filled with cattle of prime quality .ill of which were sold, realising 25s per loolbs. bheep plentiful, and of variable quality, avcraging*2id to 2i{d pct 1 lbi Lambs, very good, sold at from 12s 6d to 14s 6d each.
