LAWN TENNIS.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir,— l notice a "local" in today's Herald statin* that a match is being arranged in Auckland, "between the cracks of Waikato and Auckland players ;" I also notice that the following gentlemen, Le Messrs. F. A. Whitaker, J. Wood, J. B. Whyte, and R. H. D. Fergusson arrogate to themselves the position of "the cracks" of Waikato. They may be, but would it not be more decent to submit the dictum to the players in Waikato. — I am, yours, &o M A MEMBER OF THE HAMILTON LAWN TENNIS CLUB.

Nottingham now makes more lace than all the rest of Europe.
