There was a numerous attendance.ibut bidding was dull and prices- slightly lower, but nearly all that were yarded wpr,e sold J|t the auction.— At Remuera, on Thursday, dairy cows at calving were again in excess of requirements, those of good quality Ibrougjit from L 6 to L 9 each, but ' those of medium quality were at low \alues. Store cattle \Vcrc numerous. "Well-bred heifers in good inquiry ; calves \vcrc also freely competed for, but other descriptions 'were at lowei values. Fat cattle in full supply, 135 head yarded, mostly heavy weights ; prices fji^C"" >" advance of last week. Auckland-fatted brought fiom 28s to 30s ; ship-borne cattle, 25s to 28s the loolbs. Prices were quite as high as the previous jveck, and lots submitted by auction were cleared at satisfactory prices, although in a few exceptional cases resen es could not be reached. -We quote hacks from L 5 7s 6d to L 6 10s ; light harness horses, from Ln to Ll9 ss; draught, L 33 15s.— Hides and Skins.- Inhere was a mpderate supply, on Tuesday, and spirited demand. Hides sold at from 3^dta3^d; skins, from is ndtosS7d; bags wool in grease, B,{d to B£d.7-Cattle : A \ery largo number again changed hands. The fair, on Monday, at Papakura, was again a great success, although not quite so many were catalogued as on the previous month.— At Newmarket, on Tuesday, although the heavy downponr prevented several lots from being brought fonvard, there was a good muster, and at the regular monthly sale at Papakura, notwithstanding the fair being held on the pre*ious Monday in the same yards, there was an unusually large muster.
