COMMERCIAL. Waikato Times Office, Friday.

Mr Awrrd Betckland's Remuera. Cattle Faib.— -The second cattle fair of the season, in connection with Mr Alfred Buckland's sales, was held on Wednesday, at the Remuera Yards. There was a large attendance, and a greater number of cattle yarded than at thefint fair. Owing, also, to the advance of the season, they were iv much better condition, and the young stock looked especially well. Prices, however, did not rule high, and a considerable number were passed in. Mr J. Smith had a number of very hisrh-class shorthorns in for sale, bat the bids were not sufficiently encouraging to induce him to dispose of them. In the absence of Mr Buokland, the sale was conducted by Mr Tye. Catalogues had been printed and distributed, but they were so altogether ihnaccurate as to be useless if not misleading. This partly rises from the indefinite manner in which stockowners give their instructions, but, chiefly, because' intending sellers do nat care to catalogue. The sale resulted as follows : i

At auction, on Friday, bidding was languid, but about an average numtbw were disposed of at prices showing little alteration in value, as compared with the previous week. — Cattle: The market has not been quite so active as on the previous week, and prices ruled in favour of the purchaser, as comp ired with last quotation. — At Newmarket, on Tuesday, the yards wero well tilled, and competition was steady throughout. There was little .alteration in dairy stock, bat stores and fat beasts were a shade lowrr than the previous week. Stores were in steady demand, but there was an indisposition on the part of purchasers to give the rates ruling^at Papakura last week. There was little difference in the vaTuie of fat beasts if properly up in condition, but plain animals iv ere at relatively lower rates.
