The Australian Eleven. London, October, 4.
The Australian criolieters were entertained at luncheon at Holbflrn Viaduct Hotel to-day by u number of colonists and others. Over 120 persons were present. • After the usual toasts had been* clrunjc, Mr. Sargood, of Melbourne, presented Murdoch with a silver loving oiy> acd, other members of the team with, silver tankards in commcration of their tour.
Londox, October 5. The banquet given in honour of the Australian cricketers was presided over by the Lord Mayor of London. The Age at -General and m»ny of the leading cricketers were present. Mr Murdoch responded to the toast of the match played on the Oval, and at the same time thanked Lord Harris for having effaced the past grievance. Lord Harris spoke in the most eulogistic , terms of the cricketers, and considered the Australians pre-eminent a.t cricket.
